Why I love hemp seeds

Hemp seeds are super versatile and nutritious

I love hemp seeds and eat them every day.

These little seeds are super nutritious and have many health benefits:

  • They are rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids

  • They are a complete source of protein as they contain all nine essential amino acids (perfect for vegans and vegetarians)

  • They are high in fibre (both soluble and insoluble), which helps to ensure regular bowel movements and healthy digestion

  • They contain gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is a type of omega-6 fatty acid that can help with hormonal balance

  • They contain vitamin E and other antioxidants that help protect the body from damage caused by oxidative stress

Hemp seeds available in supermarkets or health food stores. They don’t have a strong flavour and can be added to either sweet or savoury foods or drinks.

Some of my favourite ways to eat them are:

  • mixed into smoothies

  • sprinkled on toast, eggs or salad

  • added to muffins or bliss balls
