Why I love hemp seeds
I love hemp seeds and eat them every day.
These little seeds are super nutritious and have many health benefits:
They are rich in vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids
They are a complete source of protein as they contain all nine essential amino acids (perfect for vegans and vegetarians)
They are high in fibre (both soluble and insoluble), which helps to ensure regular bowel movements and healthy digestion
They contain gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), which is a type of omega-6 fatty acid that can help with hormonal balance
They contain vitamin E and other antioxidants that help protect the body from damage caused by oxidative stress
Hemp seeds available in supermarkets or health food stores. They don’t have a strong flavour and can be added to either sweet or savoury foods or drinks.
Some of my favourite ways to eat them are:
mixed into smoothies
sprinkled on toast, eggs or salad
added to muffins or bliss balls
