Seasonal eating - better for your health and the planet!

Eating fruit and vegetables in season means that you get more nutritional bang for your buck - and it’s better for the environment!

Have you noticed that apples taste much better when they are in season?

Seasonal produce is fresher as it generally hasn’t travelled long distances or been kept in cold storage for months before selling (this is common practice when it comes to fruits like apples and pears).

If you are looking for the best nutritional bang for your buck, seasonal fruits and vegetables win every time as they are typically harvested at peak ripeness, meaning they contain higher levels of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.

Seasonal eating is also more environmentally sustainable and supports local farmers and producers.
